North Wales borough is one of the oldest boroughs in Montgomery County, established in 1869. At one time it served as a vacation destination for Philadelphia's elite, with its prime location along the railroad, now serving as a regional rail stop for SEPTA. Today, residents find beauty in the small, bucolic borough with victorian architecture, tree lined streets, and a walkable commercial district.
In the late 1800s, North Wales was home to many inns (many still standing), where wealthy Philadelphians would spend their summers away from the bustle of city life. Over time, North Wales added local industry, and has claim to (at its time) the largest greenhouse in the world!
